Edo State Government Gives N100million Grant To Market Women

Edo State Government has approved a N100 million revolving, interest-free and non-refundable grant to market women in the state to boost their trade.



The Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole who disclosed this at a reception organized for him by market women across the state, asked them to forward the names of 20 candidates to government for Board appointments
He stated that the appointments will be in addition to one of them being appointed as a Special Assistant to the Governor.
 He announced the grant in response to a request by the market women for an interest free revolving loan.The Governor urged the women to defend gains of good governance and to defend democracy because it is the only form of government that gives them power to hire and fire.
Over 1,000 women, led by Blackky Omoregie, congregated at the Imaguero hall in Benin City, wearing green head gears for the governor’s reception to celebrate the Governor’s victory in the July 2012 governorship election in the state.
